The Recon Group (TRG) focuses its efforts on the Smart Touch, Smart Returns, AND Intelligent Disposition aspects of the reverse logistics industry. Having added every big-box, consumer electronic retailer to our client roster, TRG's area of expertise lies in consumer electronics; however, it is not limited to this category. TRG has developed and executed programs for many consumer product categories including softlines, hardlines, shoes, housewares, bed & bath, appliances, and toys. Each process undergoes rigorous planning, testing, and design to develop and deploy the correct SOP to support our shared goals.

Simply calling what TRG does "reverse logistics", "refurbishment", or "liquidation" is inaccurate. TRG has spent decades partnering with retailers, developing solutions to industry changes, creating analytical tools to identify trends, and building an after-sales network second to none.

A complete and full analysis of all aspects of the process must be the first step. TRG has decades of experience dealing with analytical modeling, testing batch loads, adjusting model parameters, and initiating a scalable operation. TRG's design team will use this historical knowledge base to sort products and processes into one of three categories: immediate wins with low degree of difficulty, larger scale projects that can be achieved with moderate levels of involvement, and projects with long-term applications and benefits.

With clearly defined goals, TRG will outline procedures, costs, timelines, and channels of sales and distribution to handle finished products. All steps of the cycle will be defined by SLA's and reviewed on a monthly/quarterly basis.

The key result from this rigorous review will ensure refurbishment investments are made only to the level costs can be recouped and profit maintained. For products that aren't fiscally feasible to renew to A-standards, TRG's multiple sales channels will allow for maximum recovery; making TRG's strength your strategic advantage.

The quickest and most efficient way to transport goods is not to move them at all. Multiple touches and freight charges increase costs and reduce turn times. TRG believes the product shouldn't come to us, instead our solution should go to the product. This is why TRG co-locates within your facility (product return center) or within the logistics provider's warehouse.

Product is quickly moved into a secure area and inventoried to ensure accuracy. Immediately the triage process begins. Needed repairs are implemented, customer data is purged, product is cleaned, and kitting (accessories, printed material, etc.) is completed. Finished goods are then ready to transfer back into inventory for use.

A smart returns process can also be used to efficiently move EOL or overstock product.

Investing more in repair costs than can be recaptured is fiscally disastrous, but is often the outcome due to lack of information of market conditions for all types of products. TRG's daily product analysis values all grades of customer returns and new products. TRG's extensive sales channels allows for the maximum return on all grades of product. Market demand, coupled with cost control, allows for quick dispositioning of product as the markets change.

In an effort to push through inventory, companies will often market product on-line or sell in pallet/truckload quantities. These channels only deteriorate price/brand and promote lower recovery via one-off events. TRG's Intelligent Disposition model not only discretely sells product; but also, recovers a higher value through product availability. This will enhance your brand while increasing profitability.
